Work 3: The Corelli Concertos, Seconda parte (1729)
After publishing his concerto arrangements of Corelli’s Sonatas Op. 5 nos. I-VI (the Prima parte) Geminiani went on to compose similar arrangements of the sonatas nos. VII-XII (the Seconda parte). For their publication he went to Holland and found the Amsterdam music publisher Michel-Charles Le Cène willing to print the edition, which was published in 1729. (Attemps to print and published the second set in England had been unsuccessfull, apparently.) The Amsterdam edition was soon reprinted in England and through the various editions the works remained popular during the entire eighteenth century, both in England and on the Continent.
